• Anti-LGBT Hate Group that thanks God for “Crippled Soldiers” to Protest in Dallas.

According to the website GodHatesFags.com, the Westboro Baptist Church has planned a picket at the Cottonbowl in Dallas, TX on January 2nd.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Westboro, a quick google image search should provide you with all you need to know about these clowns.

I was going to say, “It’s like having the Klu Klux Klan marching through our town except…” but I can’t think of any relevant distinction between the two groups. Obnoxious, hateful and stupid. Well, they don’t wear hoods.

In one of the first articles I ever wrote for OccupyDallas.org, I pointed out the ridiculousness in the police response to Occupy camps when compared to the protection Westboro frequently receives while picketing the funerals of deceased servicemen. Honestly, I didn’t know disrupting a grieving family with signs that say “Thank God for Dead Soldiers” is covered under the first amendment. Somehow, I don’t think our forefathers would agree.

It’s as if the cities are jumping up and down yelling, “Look at us! We respect the first Amendment!” Good for you. And they do; if the speech is hateful and disturbing enough to cause a scene. Sixteen kids holding American flags and singing the Star Spangled Banner? They get SWAT.

I digress. Here’s what I want: I would like to call on members of our military, the LGBT community, Anons and anyone who has participated in demonstrations for equality to assemble on Jan 2nd against Westboro.

If you would like to participate in a demonstration against Westboro, please e-mail: dallasdemonstration@gmail.com. Details of our demonstration will be decided through e-mail or private chat.
